What is My Therapy Buddy (MTB)?
MTB is a transitional object, in the form of a personal companion primarily designed for the internalization of various maternal-like functions which are considered to be the building blocks of our psychic structure. It’s a wonderfully soft and huggable friend that offers great tactile contact, and provides soothing and comforting words which are beneficial to one’s emotional well being.

What is a transitional object?
Typically, the transitional object is a baby blanket, teddy bear, doll, or stuffed animal cherished by a young child who carries everywhere and sleeps with it for comfort and soothing. There is no reason why this soothing function cannot benefit adults as well. In clinical terms is the halfway point between receiving comfort and nurturing from mother or other primary care giver and total reliance on the self. It performs soothing functions and the development of enduring psychic structures which eventually permits self-healing. In everyday language a transitional object taps into the natural self preservation instinct we all have. When we are at our emotionally lowest point and we feel hopeless, there always is a reservoir of resilience inside us. The transitional object can make us aware of this natural self-healing instinct and guide us back to a healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit.

How does MTB Work?
Once in the privacy of your home, or other comfortable location, the soft and huggable companion can be accessed any time you need it. The person being held by MyTherapyBuddy can activate the comforting messages by applying slight pressure to either the right or the left foot. How much does MTB cost?
